Pulmonaria ‘Raspberry Splash’ brings luminous color and eye-catching foliage to shady garden spaces. Clusters of raspberry-pink flowers emerge in spring and gradually mature to soft violet-blue, often displaying several colors at once. Long, deep green leaves generously spotted with silver remain attractive long after the flowers have faded.
This clump-forming perennial grows approximately 10–12 inches tall and 16–24 inches wide. Plant it in partial to full shade with organically rich, moist, well-drained soil. Consistent moisture and protection from intense afternoon sun will keep the foliage looking its best. Hardy in USDA zones 3–9, ‘Raspberry Splash’ is also noted for good resistance to powdery mildew.
Use this colorful lungwort along shaded paths, beneath trees and shrubs, or as a slowly spreading groundcover. Its early flowers provide welcome food for bees and hummingbirds, while its textured foliage is generally resistant to deer and rabbits.
